Job Opportunities in Geological Exploration
Tongkah Harbour Public Company Limited (THL), Thailand, has openings for exploration geologists in its expanding exploration program. Applications are invited from interested parties having the following qualifications:
Senior Exploration Geologist:
1) M.S degree in geology (or equivalent) with at least 15 years of exploration and related experience with emphasis in non-ferrous metals including gold, base metals, tungsten, and tin, in south-east Asia.
2) Well experienced in reconnaissance surveys and evaluations, in organizing and heading up related exploration programs; in the planning, execution, and evaluation of drilling programs and results, and reporting with recommendations to company management.
3) Being well experienced in ore deposit evaluations using both traditional methods and modern computer software applications would be essential.
4) A willingness to relocate to various locations in south-east Asia for periods of time, including northeast Thailand and neighboring areas, would be prerequisite.
5) Fluency in English communication skills- essential.
Exploration Geologists:
1) B.S. or M.S. degree in geology (or equivalent) with eight years or more experience in exploration geology with emphasis on economic mineral deposits in south-east Asia; and experience in organizing and leading field survey crews, related data compilations, and reports.
2) Basic computer literacy and functionality in English essential.
3) Willingness to relocate to locations in Thailand and neighboring areas is prerequisite.
4) Thai citizenship a definite advantage.
Recent Graduates:
1) Graduates in geology (or equivalent) with up to three years general field experience and willingness to relocate and work under the direction of senior field personnel. Thai citizenship is prerequisite.
